Traditional Classroom
Face to Face Traditional Classroom
The traditional driver education course consist of thirty hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind the wheel instruction. The total package cost of the course is $399.00. A minimum deposit of $60.00 must be paid to hold a spot in any class you would select. The classroom sessions are generally two hours in length and meet Monday through Thursday during the school year and Monday through Friday during the summer month classes.
Steps to register for classes:
There are several ways to register for a class:
- Click here and print off the registration form and the contract and fill them out and sign. Make sure when you either bring the information to The Driving Center or mail it, that you include $60.00 for the deposit.
- Come to The Driving Center and fill out the registration form and sign the contract. We accept,Visa, Master Card, Discover or bank debit cards for payment along with cash or checks.
- Call us at (765)640-0973 to give us all the information over the phone to complete the registration form. We will then mail you the contract to sign. The deposit of $60.00 will need to be secured by a credit card at that time to hold a spot in the class.
After the registration and contract have been signed by both the parent and the student, the CDE form will be issued by The Driving Center (21) days prior to the start of class. This is the form which will have to be taken to the BMV to secure the driver education learner permit. The parent or guardian will have to go with the student to the BMV when securing the permit. Make sure you have all the necessary documents along with the CDE form.
Once the permit has been secured and any remaining balance on the account is paid, then the six hours of behind the wheel instruction may be scheduled. These driving times will be outside of the classroom instructional time. Ideally, we strive to schedule two drives per week if possible. We usually start scheduling drive times one week prior to the start of the class. All drive times will be after the student has attended their first day of classroom instruction. Behind the wheel instructional times will be one hour in length and are one - on - one instruction with our certified instructors in our dual controlled vehicle.
