Online Instruction

The Driving Center has partnered with Welcome Driver, for Online driver education classroom instruction. Welcome Driver is one of the BMV approved courses which has been recognized by the BMV to replace the conventional thirty hours of classroom instruction. An additional requirement will be to complete six hours of behind the wheel instruction with our certified driver education instructors here at The Driving Center.

Cost: $399.00 is the total package cost for either Online or traditional instructional courses. A minimum fee of $99.00 must be paid to start the Online at sign up. When the Online course has been successfully completed, Welcome Driver will notify The Driving Center of the successful completion. At this time the additional fee of $ 300.00 will be paid and the CDE form will be issued to the student to secure the learner permit. After the permit is secured the six one- hour driving instructions will be scheduled. When the student has completed the six hours of behind the wheel instruction, the permit will be signed by The Driving Center.

The Online instructional course would have to be completed through Welcome Driver within sixty days.

Please note: Paying the $99.00 for the Online classroom "only" will NOT meet the requirements to obtain your permit.

Steps for Online Instruction:

• Complete Registration form either at The Driving Center or over the telephone.
• Pay a minimum of $99.00 which would pay for the Online portion of the course.
• Be granted the individual access code from TDC to begin the Online course.
• Go online to setup your account through Welcome Driver.
• Complete the 30 hours of Online instructional material through Welcome Driver. You will have sixty days to complete the course.
• Welcome Driver will notify The Driving Center of the course completion.
• Pay the additional $300.00 for the six hours of behind the wheel instruction.
• After final payment and notification from Welcome Driver, the CDE form will be issued to the student.
• The student will be responsible to secure the driver education learner permit at the BMV.
• Once the permit has been secured the driving sessions will be scheduled.
• Student will need to complete six hours of behind the wheel instruction to finish course.
